Attilla will return to many of the venues in his recent Solo Recital (plus many more), along with Ukrainian pianist, Oleg Poliansky, to present a world-class duo performance.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1968, Oleg Poliansky began studying the piano at the Lysenko Music School (Kiev). He has since been credited with a long list of accolades, having won multiple international piano competitions between 1986 and 2003, including the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow (Russia) the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati (USA) and Citta di Cantu (Italy). He has also won prizes in Tokyo (Japan), Montreal (Canada) and at `The International Duo Competition’ in Marseille (France).
This will be an extensive tour, encompassing over forty venues throughout New South Wales and Queensland. Attilla is passionate about bringing quality classical music to smaller communities, and this tour will reach as far South as Goulburn, and North through to Cooktown and Mt Isa.
Oleg will accompany Attilla with masterful duets, including Massenet’s “Meditation” from the Opera Thais, plus works by Bach, Paganini, Gluck, Kriesler and Bazzini. The concert will also feature solo piano pieces by Chopin, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, as well as Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”.
In some venues, violinist Anna Moores will join the pair for an arrangement of Handel’s Passacaglia, as well as duets for two violins by Shostakovich.
These musicians bring unique personalities to their performances. Attilla has a unique ability to connect with his audience, entertaining not only with incredible and masterful technique, but also delighting with his anecdotes and sense of humour. Combined with Oleg’s precision and sophistication, this will be a most entertaining and enjoyable performance.
