From our President | 1 August 2017

It seems that everywhere I turn in recent days I am confronted with the parable of the sower who goes forth to sow the seed in varying kinds of soil fertility. So I ask myself: What is the seed that God wants Stable to sow in 2017?

Our ongoing discernment would say that we are called to sow the seed of peace in order to reap a harvest for the city. But we can only sow the seed that we have. As I see it, the challenge for each of us is to become that fertile field in the parable – the field that receives God’s seed of peace and nurtures it within our spirits, into fully blossoming virtues – graciousness, hospitality, welcome, forgiveness, trust – that will both emanate peacefulness and create a desire for peace in the heart of our city.
