Event Location

Strand Park Townsville

Accessibility

Stable on the Strand is an accessible outdoor site. Strand Park is wheelchair friendly, although uneven ground.
Disability parking is available at each end of Strand Park.

ATM Facilities

ATM facilities are available on site.

Cost

There is no entry fee and all entertainment, activities, and the carousel ride are free.

Donations

Donation points are available around Strand Park for those who wish to contribute to the running of Stable on the Strand.

Drop-off Zones

Drop-off zones are located on the northern and southern sides of Strand Park in the old bus stops for a maximum of two (2) minutes.

Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency:
– Listen for park announcements
– Follow the instructions of the Stable Team and emergency services personnel.

The Emergency Assembly Area is on the beach.

First Aid

Located at the southern end of Strand Park.

Food & Drinks

Food and drinks stalls will operate from 5pm. You can bring your own food and drinks. No glass or alcohol is permitted.

Free Bible (New Testament)

Pick up your FREE copy of the Stable on the Strand New Testament at Stable HQ.

Hospitality

Visit our Hospitality Tent in the middle of Strand Park or the Olive Lead Café in the Town of Bethlehem for free tea, coffee, and water, and a slice of Christmas Cake.

Information | Stable HQ

Information can be found at Stable HQ, located near the beach-side entry to Strand Park.

Lost People

Report to Information | Stable HQ where the Stable team will assist you. Drop in to ask questions, find lost people, make donations, and pick-up your free Stable on the Strand New Testament.

Lost Property

There is a lost property box at Information | Stable HQ.

No Smoking

Stable on the Strand is a smoke free event.

Parents Space

The Parents Space is located next to Stable HQ.

Parking

Parking is available in the streets around Strand Park and at Jezzine Barracks.
Drop-off zones are located on the northern and southern sides of Strand Park in the old bus stops for a maximum of two (2) minutes.

Preview Night

On 17 December we have our Dress Rehearsal from 6pm till 8pm. There is an invitation to all Seniors and people with disabilities who prefer ‘crowd free’ access to come and enjoy the event.

Recycling

Stable on the Strand is committed to reducing the level of general waste through recycling. To assist us please check the signage on waste disposal bins to ensure you put the right items in the correct bin. Recycling items include paper, cardboard, cartons, plastic, and aluminimum. Bins for other rubbish are also provided.

Seating

Tables and chairs are available throughout the event site; or bring a picnic rug and find a great spot on the grass.

Tickets

There is no entry fee and tickets are not issued. All entertainment, activities, and the carousel ride are free.

Toilets

Two Locations:
1. Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club – southern end of Strand Park.
2. Temporary Toilets on the grass near the Stuart St headland playground – northern end of Strand Park.

Wheelchairs

Some wheelchairs are available on Preview Night, 17 December.
